Datuk Dr N Subramaniam obtained his MBBS from University of Mysore, India in 1966. He had obtained his MRCOG at Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, United Kingdom in 1975. In 1988, he was made a fellow of Royal College of Obstetrician & Gynaecolocy (FRCOG).

Datuk Dr N Subramaniam had served Ministry of Health for more than 20 years. After serving a numerous general hospitals, he retired in 1995 as a Head of Services in Obstetrician & Gynaecology. He is a founder of QHC Medical Centre that was established since 1995.
